If it were not for ～の意味と使い方
- 現在の仮定を表します。
- 「もし〜がなければ（今の状況は違うだろう）」という意味です。
（例文）
・If it were not for your help, I couldn’t finish this project.
（君の助けがなければ、このプロジェクトを終えることはできないだろう。）
・If it were not for the internet, communication would be much slower.
（インターネットがなければ、コミュニケーションははるかに遅くなるだろう。）
＊Without（But for)～で表すこともできます。例えば
Without the internet, communication would be much slower.
（使い方）
- If it were not for music, life would be boring.
（音楽がなければ、人生は退屈だろう。） - If it were not for coffee, I couldn’t stay awake.
（コーヒーがなければ、起きていられないだろう。） - If it were not for this book, I wouldn’t understand the topic.
（ この本がなければ、そのテーマを理解できなかっただろう。） - If it were not for the sun, we couldn’t live.
（ 太陽がなければ、私たちは生きられない。） - If it were not for weekends, I would be tired all the time.
（週末がなければ、私はいつも疲れているだろう。）
